February! The month of love. Or at least the month chocolate is on sale. While I’m not a chocolate fanatic, I don’t mind buying a few bags when they’re on sale. I do the same thing in October. I mean, why not? Worst case scenario, the folks at work get a bunch of chocolate in the community jar. (And they still complain about what kind it is – ingrates!)
No real insecurities in the writing world this month. I should be petrified because I sent my initial draft of my next self-help book to my friend for review but I’m not scared. She’s kind and gentle. She’s also a fellow traveler in my world so her feedback is going to be incredibly invaluable.
I’m thinking about reaching out to other fellow travelers for their input too. Since my manuscript is in its infancy, now would be the perfect time to get as much advice on what content they’d like to see in my book and these powerful, insightful women would be the perfect people to ask. The book is about communication. Something we struggled with after Devin's disclosure and as we navigated our way through the world of addiction.
After their responses, then the real work begins again: writing, editing, repeat. It’s all good though. I’m in no rush. Look how long it took for my first book to get published. It will happen when it happens.
I'll be by to see everyone after work :)
Do love chocolate? Do you send your initial drafts out for review too?
This is a post for the Insecure Writer's Support Group. Its purpose is to share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
A big thank you to Alex Cavanaugh for making all of this possible. You rock!
